Site Conditions

The park / site stays open from 6am to 6pm daily. Most people who occupy places in the park include women and the elderly from the settlement. The older people spend their time sitting in groups and talking or looking around, and the women spend their time in the temple. At times there are visitors of the caves or the temple. The caves do not hold significance as much as the temple does. This may because of lack of information provided of the caves, and the usage of it more as a temple than a historical site. There are also ruins of a Portuguese church above the caves, that are not accessible.

The Laxman Mhatre road just outside the park is a rather a busy road with multiple automobile repair, metal fabrication, and meat shops along the settlement edge. The park side edge of the road has a footpath that is used as a parking for rickshaws, bikes, cycles, and scooters of the people, rickshaw-walas who stay in the settlement, and shop vendors. Peak rush hours are around 8 - 12 in the mornings and 4 - 9 in the evenings when the road would have a lot of vehicles and people moving around.
